The dental laboratory for fixed dental prosthetics is equipped with 10 simulation dental models – phantoms, a set of implanting instruments (turbine and planter) for each dental seat separately, a gypsum trimmer, 10 dental seats positions, 10 ergonomic therapeutic chairs and technical micro motors for each seat.
In this dental laboratory, practical classes are performed for the students from the study programs for doctors of dental medicine and professional dental technicians. Students acquire manual skills in the first years of their studies as their preparation for practical work that are performed on patients in later years of their studies. They learn the rules and procedures of tooth preparation for the purpose of making fixed prosthetic structures (crowns and bridges), as well as all laboratory stages of their preparation (modeling of crowns and bridges in wax, their insertion, casting and processing). They get acquainted with the materials and devices used in dental laboratories, as well as how to work with them.
In this dental laboratory, practical pre-clinical teaching in the field of orthodontics is performed, where the students adopt the procedures for making mobile and interceptive orthodontic appliances.
The dental laboratory for fixed dental prosthetics was completely renovated in 2019 when 10 new dental seats were procured and installed.
