Asst. Dr. Bojan Poposki is an assistant at the Department of Oral and Periodontal Diseases at the Faculty of Dentistry – Skopje, part of the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje.
In 2019 he graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry – Skopje, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, with an average grade of 9.43.
In 2022, he defended his master’s thesis, at the Department of Oral and Periodontal Diseases, with the title: “Determination of the morphological characteristics of the lip grooves of the population of the Republic of North Macedonia by cheiloscopy”, thus completing the studies of the second cycle, with an average grade of 10.00, and obtained the title: Master of Dental Sciences.
The first employment of asst. Dr. Bojan Poposki is in the current year 2022, at the Department of Oral and Periodontal Diseases at the Faculty of Dentistry – Skopje, part of the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje.
He is the author of several scientific papers in the fields of oral medicine and periodontology. The interest in scientific research work with asst. Dr. Bojan Poposki started already in the second year of his undergraduate studies, i.e. in 2016, during which he took an active part in the International Dental Student Congress with a student topic from the Department of Oral and Periodontal Diseases, entitled: “Influence of mental stress on the activity of salivary amylase”, and continued in 2017 with a student topic from the Department of Oral and Periodontal Diseases, with the title: “Salivary markers in patients with chronic kidney disease”, and in 2018 with a student topic from the same Department, with the title: “Prognostic and diagnostic markers of periodontal disease”, with all three topics being awarded.
Asst. Dr. Poposki focused his professional and scientific interests on problems in the field of oral medicine and pathology, oral biochemistry and forensic dentistry. He is particularly interested in the use of saliva and salivary biomarkers for diagnostic and prognostic purposes. Additionally his subject of scientific and applied interest is the prevention of oral cancer through the prevention and early diagnosis of oral potentially malignant disorders.
During the entire duration of his undergraduate studies, Dr. Poposki was a member of the Student Parliament of the Faculty of Dentistry, and then, during the second cycle of studies, he was also a member of the Faculty Student Assembly of the Faculty of Dentistry. During his undergraduate studies, he was also a member of the Teaching-Scientific Council of the Faculty of Dentistry in Skopje, as a representative of the students.
He was a member of the Organizing Committee of the International Dental Student Congress in the period from 2016 to 2019, as well as in 2022. He was also a member of the Organizing Committee of the Second and Third Summer School for dental medicine students and young doctors. He was part of the Organizing Committee of the Symposium for students of medicine, dentistry and young doctors of dental medicine, with the title: “COVID-19: What have we learned and how ready are we?”, in cooperation with EMSA Macedonia. He actively participated in the educational and preventive programs implemented within the World Oral Health Day (2016-2022). He is a participant in the project of the Faculty of Dentistry in Skopje, in cooperation with the City of Skopje, entitled: “Promotion of oral health among citizens from socially vulnerable categories”.
